Vogue House

Hands up who has never seen “The Devil Wears Prada” at least once. Well, regardless of the fact that if you haven’t done it yet, it’s time to fix it, you should know that just as in the heart of Manhattan where the magazine mentioned in the film is based, London also has its own Mecca of fashion. It’s called “Vogue House“. In the very center of the British capital, crossing Regent Street you arrive at Hanover Square. Here, among the elegant buildings of the City, there is the English editorial office of the newspaper that dictates the rules of the fashion system. Well, once you arrive, a revolving door is all that separates you from the outside world and one in which every trend becomes a success. I took courage and crossed that threshold. As soon as you enter I can guarantee that you forget the rest. From the concierge to the heady scent of reception flowers. And then all the covers of the main editions of the magazine that are the background. But it is on the first floor that we realize how reality sometimes even surpasses the imagination of every most surprising film version. Long corridors and endless framed author’s photos lead to the various rooms: from editing to the meeting room, where the most important decisions are made. Yes, it’s true: here coffee, unlike the film, everyone can take it directly from the machines (also strictly fashion) without necessarily having to ask to have it delivered to the door but the “ticking” of the heels up and down the stairs, rooms and corridors I can confirm that it really exists and is an integral part of a daily life that changes here from day to day. Briefing, shooting and post-production are an integral part of that complicated project that leads to the final stage of processing each new issue of the magazine. And for the record, that room of wonders with clothes, shoes and accessories of the most prestigious designer labels really exists: because in the “Vogue House” everything is possible and from the catwalks to the editorial office the step is short. The important thing is that it happens exclusively on a stiletto of at least ten centimeters.
