Eleonora Abbagnato illumina il cielo di Parigi con Dior

“Cuore, passione, perseveranza: è cosi che si realizzano i sogni”. Parola di Eleonora Abbagnato. L’étoile è tornata a illuminare il cielo di Parigi. A partire da oggi e nei prossimi giorni, infatti, si esibirà nello spettacolo “Dior habille les nuits”, indossando abiti fiabeschi della celebre maison guidata da Maria Grazia Chiuri. Due orgogli italiani, dunque, nel firmamento francese. “Parigi è sempre nel mio cuore”, ha detto Abbagnato in una serata in suo onore organizzata dall’Istituto Italiano di Cultura di Parigi. Ma l’orgoglio di essere italiana e, più precisamente, del Sud, resta sempre vivo. “Mantengo salde le mie radici – ha raccontato l’étoile al direttore dell’Istituto, Antonio Calbi – fin da piccola, ogni volta che dovevo ripartire, lasciando la mia Sicilia, era come se un pezzo del mio cuore mi venisse strappato”. E di cuore, Abbagnato, ne ha messo sempre tanto nel suo percorso e continua a metterlo, soprattutto quando trasmette alle nuove generazioni la sua passione per la danza. Un amore così forte che l’ha portata a superare anche difficoltà apparentemente insormontabili. Ma quando si parla di danza, l’attenzione, adesso, resta focalizzata sull’Italia. “Oltre al Lago dei cigni e allo Schiaccianoci c’è molto di più – dice Abbagnato – bisogna educare il pubblico e credo che nel nostro Paese nell’ultimo periodo siano stati fatti molti progressi sotto questo aspetto, rivalutando anche la danza contemporanea”. E poi, l’amore per la famiglia e gli occhi che si illuminano guardando una delle sue figlie sedute fra il pubblico. Perchè, la luce dell’ètoile Abbagnato non splende solo su un palcoscenico, ma anche e soprattutto con la sua famiglia: “I miei figli sono liberi di scegliere la loro strada per il futuro – afferma – e io sarò lì a sostenerli, così come ha fatto la mia famiglia con me”.

Two Italian prides, therefore, in the French firmament. “Paris is always in my heart,” Abbagnato said at an evening honoring her organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in Paris. But the pride of being Italian and, more precisely, from the South, always remains alive. “I have kept my roots firm – the étoile told the director of the Institute, Antonio Calbi – since I was a child, every time I had to leave again, leaving my Sicily, it was as if a piece of my heart was torn from me”. And Abbagnato has always put a lot of heart into her path and she continues to put it in, especially when she passes on her passion for dance to the new generations. A love so strong that it led her to overcome even seemingly insurmountable difficulties. But when it comes to dance, her attention now remains focused on Italy. “In addition to Swan Lake and the Nutcracker there is much more – says Abbagnato – we need to educate the public and I believe that in our country in the last period a lot of progress has been made in this aspect, also re-evaluating contemporary dance”. And then, her love for her family and her eyes that light up looking at one of her daughters sitting in the audience. Because, the light of star Abbagnato does not only shine on a stage, but also and above all with his family: “My children are free to choose their path for the future – she states – and I will be there to support them, as well as he made my family with me.”
